Below you will find an email that I recently received. You have gotten the same one. It brings up some interesting points. And I know I will start reading the labels closer and start only buying from the United States.
Here is the email:
I WAS BUYING FOOD THE OTHER DAY AT THE COUNTRY MARKET. ON THE LABEL OF SOME PRODUCTS IT SAID FROM CHINA..FOR EXAMPLE THE" OUR FAMILY" BRAND OF THE MANDARIN ORANGES SAYS RIGHT ON THE CAN FROM CHINA I WAS SHOCKED!! SO FOR A FEW MORE CENTS I BOUGHT THE LIBERTY GOLD BRAND OR THE DOLE IS FROM CAL. TAKES FOREVER JUST TO BUY FOOD AND DO LABEL READING ! !

Are we Americans as dumb as we appear --- or --- is it that we just do not think? While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally, export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys and goods to be sold in American markets, the media wrings its hands and criticizes the Bush Administration for perceived errors. Yet 70% of Americans believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended. Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA!!

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy, and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong), simply choose another product, or none at all. You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products, and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without. Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter? If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some American farmer. Easter is just an example, the point is do not wait for the government to act. Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS If 200 million Americans refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods, that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!! The downside? Some American businesses will feel a temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh The solution? Let's give them fair warning and send our own message. Most of the people who have been reading about this matter are planning on implementing this on June 4, and continue it until July 4. That is only one month of trading losses, but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%, of their American exports. Then they will at least have to ask themselves if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, June 4 to July 4. EVEN BETTER. . . START NOW.

The Gift That Keeps Giving!

We recently gave a dear friend, Dr. Werner Langer a goat for his 83rd. birthday. Yes, I said a goat. The gift was one of many living gifts that can be made through a great organization call Heifer International. You can select a gift for any occasion of bees, goats, chickens, cows etc. The gifts are then given to a family in need in a less fortunate country. The family's are then able to provide food for themselves and are able earn some income too.

An example would be...in Tanzania, Omari and Kulwa were struggling to raise a family on just 50 cents a day. With the training and a flock of chicks they received from Heifer, egg sales have boosted their daily income to $2, so they can now buy food and still pay school fees. Now through passing on the gift, all of the children in their village are going to school.

Don't Pre-judge People!

Don’t pre-judge or make assumptions about people….

It is just so easy to do this and if we stop and really think about how many times during the day do we do this I am sure it will shock you. A very good visual example is on this video of Susan Boyle who appeared on Britain’s Got Talent. Just look at the expressions on the faces of the people in the audience and the judging panel. Hear what the judges have to say and how they admit to pre-judging Susan.

One of the four agreements in the book, The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz is make no assumptions. Mr. Ruiz suggests that we all find the courage to ask questions and at the same time express what we really want. We need to clearly communicate with others as clearly as we can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama in our lives. In doing this we are making no assumptions or pre-judgments.

In the business of network marketing we need to follow that note and never pre-judge or make the assumption that a person would not be interested in our business opportunity because we assume they don’t have the time, don’t have the money to invest, or are at a status or income level that they would not be interested.

"Who" do you know?

The power of “Who”.

There is a book with that exact title, The Power of WHO written by Bob Beaudine. In this book Mr. Beaudine talks about the importance of friendships and how vital they are to our dreams and success. I totally agree with him that true friendships are based on love, loyalty and mutual respect with no strings attached. I thought it was very interesting that if you have 100 friends and I have 100 friends…most would think that between the two of us we would have 200 friends. But that is the wrong answer, it would be 10,000! It’s exponential. In this book he explains how each of the people in our circle of friends has great influence with their circle of friends. He explains that our friends are pre-wired with a strong desire to help us.

For those of you that have attended any of our current trainings with MVP University or any that Buck Reed and I have taught throughout the years you will feel like you are hearing something very familiar. We have referred to it as “digging” and working with your warm market. In today’s economy it is so important to reconnect to people and to reach out to others by using today’s online tools to speed up your relationship building.

I myself have become more familiar with LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube and Twitter as well as blogging just to name a few ways to stay connected and to build on your relationships and establish new ones with social networks.

Update on Kristin's Kidz

The New Year has started off bringing many changes both here in the United Stares and in the world. I am happy to say that Kristin’s Kidz (in memory of Kristin Kleizo) is becoming a component in that change. We are off to a great start with holding weekly conference calls to plan out the projects and programs that Kristin’s Kidz and volunteers will be a part of in 2009.

Here are just a few of the programs being considered:

Toys for Thailand
Tanners Totes
Ryan’s Wells
Little Red Wagon
Habitant for Humanity
Hotel Hope
Bridge of Hope (San Diego Chapter)
Women’s and Children’s Crisis Center (Los Angeles)
Orphanage in Mexico

And the list continues to grow. Many people attending the MVP University trainings have already been contributing by clothing donations. We are currently looking for shelters to donate some of the clothing collected in the Rockford, Ill. and Tampa, Fl. areas. Many years ago I read Dale Carnegie’s book How to Win Friends and Influence People and it made a lasting impression on me. So much so that I have read it many times since and recommend it to others in the leadership trainings I have conducted over the years. And today I urge you to get this book and follow Mr. Carnegie’s direction too.

I was excited to see a great article in the March issue of Success Magazine on Carnegie and I would like to share the following information called Carnegie’ Points.

· Avoid arguments

· Don’t point out when people are wrong. Respect differing viewpoints.

· When you are wrong, admit it emphatically and move on.

· You will get more in business with honey than vinegar. Be friendly and gentle.

Update On Toys For Thailand

I just wanted to share with all of you an update on Sasha Blair’s goodwill in Thailand.
Some of you may be following my blogs on the orphans in Thailand and what Sasha and others from the Toys for Thailand Foundation are accomplishing. See my December 29th blog.

My mother, Imo and I are close friends with Sasha and have made it one of our goals this tear to continue our support in helping create a safe and clean environment for theses orphans. The pictures show the kids repainting the boys dorm and getting ready for their new beds. Sasha and the team provided a very rare treat, Pizza for the children who helped with the clean up and painting. Through generous donations Toys for Thailand was able to purchase 100 new beds and have a new bathroom constructed.

Sasha will return any day now to San Diego her home. She has been in Thailand since Dec. 14th overseeing the project. Last week when I emailed her to see what was on her wish list for 2009 she replied with the wish of another 100 beds. The cost of a bed for a child is just $35.00 a very small portion of what a bed would cost here in the United States. If you would like to contribute Click Here www.toysforthailand.org.

The Wat Don Chan orphanage currently is the home to over 650 children. Sasha says another 100 are expected this year. Celebrate Good News!

It is a New Day...time for a New Way!

For years I've avoided the late night news. It seems it was always terrible things being reported. News that left you feeling sad, troubled and many times questioning...what is this world coming to? I have always been a firm believer in the power of thought and that "thoughts are things". So wouldn't it be better to have good news, positive uplifting thoughts going through your mind, especially before going to bed at night?

Back in the mid-eighties I wanted to start a "Good News" TV station where only the good stories would be reported. Our "Unsung Heroes" of every day life and random acts of kindness would be the nightly news flash. Words of empowerment would be offered to help others lead a more productive life. There would be a segment on contribution and highlight those who were giving back to not only their communities but to others locally and around the world. Featured would be ordinary people who reached out with a helping hand to those in need.

Last year we decided to start forming a platform to create the sharing of "good news". The internet seemed to be the best format that would be available to people worldwide and 24/7. We created an online social community CelebrateGoodNews.com. This is a community where you can join if you want to hear, read and share positive news. We started small with a group of founding members. Last year was a very full year for me with my grandson, Merric being born and me being a very hands on grandmother time went by faster than I ever thought possible. I did not get to really promote and seek others to help with this cause and now we are ready with your help to spread the word about the Power of Good News.

The new year of 2009 has brought some very new and exciting changes both with our new country leadership and my focus to move forward on what I am most passionate about, which is giving back to others through different humanitarian projects. Another priority of mine will be to help spread the word about our Celebrate Good News Community and encourage others to make a positive impact on our world. I would like to personally invite you to become a member of Celebrate Good News. It is easy to do and a great way to keep positive energy flowing.

Another Loan Is Made!

I am excited that today we were are to make another loan to a woman through the Kiva system. Read my previous blog. As loans are repaid the money goes back into my account with Kiva and I can then re-cycle the money so to speak and make another loan.

Today we made a loan to the following woman: Josephine Ehiobor
She sells beef. She has been in this business for a long time. She is married with three children.
Josephine is requesting a loan of 120,000 to purchase more beef to sell. By expanding her business, she hopes to increase her profit margin.

Out of Poverty With Kiva

About a year ago I came across an organization called Kiva. Kiva lets a person lend money to a specific entrepreneur in the developing world. Your loans of $25.00 will help empower them to lift themselves out of poverty. As your loans are paid back into your Kiva account you can recycle the money so to speak and select another person or persons that you would like to help.

Toys For Thailand

Dear Friends,

Toys for Thailand is one of the charities that Imo and contribute to. It really makes your heart feel good when you realize that we had a small part in this ceremony so far away. We have purchased bikes for the orphan children from the Tsunami of 2004. For $50.00 you can purchase a bike and then children can work as that is their means of transportation. If you are interested we can put you in touch with our good friend Sasha Bilar. Sasha is a dear friend who lives close to us but spends every Christmas in Thailand helping to build schools that are desperately need. This year we helped her raise funds to build toilets and purchase new beds for the boys at the orphanage and that is one of the things she is doing this year.

Below is an email we just received about their Holiday trip. I hope to join Sasha in the new future on one of her trips to see the children.

FORWARD FROM SASHA:

Sasha asked me to pass along Greetings from Chiangmai, Sawadee and
Happy New Year! I hope your holidays are filled with love and sharing.
Sasha, Roselle and I just returned from a unbelievable trip to Mae
Hong Song MHS, where we spent Christmas and Christmas Eve with the
invisible Daoyai tribal children at the isolated school on the border of
Burma. It took 30 minutes to fly to MHS, and 45 minutes to drive to the
school, nestled high in the beautiful national geographic quality
mountains of MHS, called the Summit of Serenity.

The children were so excited to see us, they held up banners saying things like, Thank you
for your donates. Thank you for your kindness. Welcome. Bon Voyage.
Everything they could think of in English. We were treated like royalty
and shown around the school which we had helped with a substantial
donation in 2007.

Sasha asked them what they appreciated most from our past donation
and they all pointed to the water purification system that we
purchased for them. The headmaster was so gracious showing us the
organic vegetable garden that they were growing with the gardening
supplies we purchased them. It was so wonderful to see that our
donations made a difference! We bought blankets, jackets and medicine
this trip. On Christmas day we purchased a special meal for the children
consisting of chicken and other dishes, following by cake, which for
many of the children, they never had cake before.

We personally served the cake and the smiles on the children's faces was priceless, they were
so happy to get a little square of sugar and floor topped with white
frosting and a red cherry. There are no ovens at the school just open
fires for cooking, and no budget for the luxury of cake.

The kids next performed their tribal dances, did some skits and gave
us so much acknowledgement for the party we had sponsored for them.
They had a big bon fire (yes, the party was outdoors)and after the cake
and entertainment, we light 20 lanterns and sent them up to the heavens
with the children's wishes for the new year. There was a gift exchange
(each children had 12 baht which is less than 50 cents) to buy a gift,
teachers had $1. Sasha, Roselle and I also brought gifts for the
exchange. Needless to say, our gifts were a bit higher than their range
so three lucky students got our nicer gifts, goody bags of art supplies,
hat and gloves, shampoo. The evening ended with all of us dancing and
waving our arms in the air, happy to celebrate Christmas in a magical
place with the sweetest, most appreciative children. I will never
forget the JOY and the happiness that was shared on Christmas 2008 with
the Daiyai children, in the far away school outside Mae Hong Song.

As this year comes to a close and the new year is about to begin I would like to take a moment and wish you all the very best. I hope you truly enjoy time with your loved ones during this Holiday season, I just love this time of year when everyone has the "Christmas Spirit".
Especially it's this time of year when it is so important to express gratitude for all the goodness that we have received through out 2008 The more we express gratitude the more we open our lives to receive more abundance in all areas. Remember "Thoughts Become Things". We also want to reflect on the year, and thank the people that have made a great impression
on our lives.

I would personally like to thank you for your friendship and support in 2008, and wish you much success in 2009! This year will be monumential for me to finally go in the direction of my true passion of doing worldwide Humanitarian work. A major focus is to honor Kristin Kleizo with Kristin's Kidz. Kristin was the ultimate "giver" and she lived each day of her life with the "Christmas Spirit" and it is that spirit that will be remembered by all of us! Kristin has taught me so many things like to take more pictures, to keep smiling even in the tough times and to LOVE LIFE even more than I did before.

What Will Be Your Legacy?

What Will Be Your Legacy?

In memory of Kristin Kleizo:

Everyone wants to leave a legacy....but do we know what it will be? Have you really thought about it?

Did you know that what we do daily over a long period of time actually creates our legacy? Is what you are doing now on a daily basis what you want your life to stand for, the impact you want it to have on others?

If your answer is no, or not really, or I am not sure...no worries. You can on this very day turn things around. Your legacy is the sum of your whole life not just what has transpired up until now. But you must act now to make changes because our life is precious and at any time can be taken from us.

We will all leave a legacy but it is our choice as to what kind. Take some time to really plan and take action on your goals so that your life will leave a positive impact and influence on others.

Having just returned from Kristin Kleizo's memorial in Orlando I know now more than ever just how important it is to live each and every day in gratitude and in service to helping and supporting others in achieving their dreams. Kristin truly touched the lives of many and her spirit for life, love, compassion and FUN has left a legacy that will continue to influence many worldwide for years to come.

I am grateful to have been a part of a team of Kristin's friends who in the last several days fulfilled a dream of Kristin's and Maggie's (her mother). Kristin's wish was to someday have her mom's house remodeled. It was a blessing to be able to help make that wish come true.

Toys For Thailand

Toys for Thailand is a voluntary grassroots team of educators and community members who have been providing tangible goods and services for orphaned, abandoned, and refugee children living in remote villages of Thailand since 2005. Toys for Thailand is a project of the International Humanities Center, a 501 (c) 3 organization making donations tax deductible.

Through an annual humanitarian trip to Thailand, the volunteers deliver basic tools and resources such as instructional supplies, vocational training equipment, food and toys to the schools and orphanages, which house the children. This summer Toys for Thailand teams made their fourth trip in as many years to Thailand.
