Powerful Questions from "Ask And You Will Succeed"

This book, by Ken D. Foster, offers powerful questions that allow you to tap into your strength and create your ideal life. It’s pretty easy to ask yourself the questions but it takes desire and commitment to answer them and then act on your answers.

My favorite questions pertaining to business are:
  • What vision do you have for your business?
  • What has to happen for you to enroll key players in your vision?
  • What goals or outcomes are you ready to achieve in your business?
  • What has to happen this week for you to double your monthly income?
  • What can you do to attract more prospects?
Take a few minutes to really answer these questions and then from your answers create a plan of ACTION to get the RESULTS you DESIRE!

Turning Dreams Into Reality

There is a clear distinction between those who live their dreams and those who do not. Achieving and living your dreams is not a matter of luck, but a matter of skill, dedication, commitment and action. It takes an increased awareness about the laws of abundance, a sense of how to communicate with people, a true dedication toward achievement and a growing certainty in your belief that you will succeed. Above all, it takes focus and discipline.

When we look at dreams and goals, the distinction that sets them apart is that goals are a commitment to action with a plan and deadline for achievement. While dreams may be in your heart and mind, and perhaps even written down, goals are your actual commitment to make things happen in your life. No different than climbing a mountain, if your goal is to reach the top, what matters most is not the distance that you will travel, but the steps that you take to travel that distance...in the footsteps of someone who has already achieved the goal, and is willing to show you the way.

Success is a journey, not a destination; and along the journey there are many milestones or accomplishments. Each is a mini victory and stepping stone toward fulfillment of your goals. As you build upon your small victories you move closer toward turning your dreams into reality.

Attitude of Gratitude by Sheri Sharman

As stated in Success Magazine's article "Too Busy for Relationships", psychology research shows people who express gratitude daily are happier and have better relationships.

Think about the people in your life; people you see or talk to daily and people you are connected with who are far away. Are you grateful that these people are in your life? Do you regularly express your gratitude through words and/or actions? Make sure the people you care about know that you care about them. Adopt a daily Attitude of Gratitude and you will see positive changes in your relationships.

Getting to Know Someone Using F.O.R.M. by Sheri Sharman

In business it is very important to connect with people when you first meet them. You should try to "build bridges" or find something in common. One of the ways you can do this is by asking them questions about their family, occupation, recreational activities and/or what motivates them in life. A simple way to remember these conversation topics is to think of the word F.O.R.M.

F = Family
O = Occupation
R = Recreational activities
M = Motivation in life

Using conversation topics like these, you are apt to find something that you have in common. Once you determine what you have in common, you've just made yourself more memorable to that new person. You can comment on your commonality when you follow-up with them which will help you strengthen your bridge or connection with them.

Words to Live By

An excerpt from No Glass Ceiling, Just Blue Sky
By Marcy Blochowiak

Dream what you want to dream;
Go where you want to go;
Be what you want to be,
Because you have only one life
And one chance to do all the things
You want to do.

May you have enough happiness to make you sweet,
Enough trials to make you strong,
Enough sorrow to keep you human and
Enough hope to make you happy.

The happiest of people don't necessarily
Have the best of everything;
They just make the most of
Everything that comes along their way.

The brightest future will always
Be based on a forgotten past;
You can't go forward in life until
You let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying
And everyone around you was smiling
Live your life so at the end
You're the one who is smiling and everyone
Around you is crying.

How to Attract a Group of People by Sheri Sharman

In Network Marketing, as in many businesses, it is necessary to attract a group of people or a team.

How would you feel at your companies next training with a large group of people from your team in attendance?

Here are some tips to help you attract a large team:

  • Be likeable.
  • Use a firm assertive handshake and pay attention to the other person’s handshake.
  • Learn to paint pictures with words.
  • Change your view of the cost to start. See it as a small amount with BIG REWARDS.
  • Improve your image to one of success & class. (People will always judge based on appearance.)
  • “Believe” in the business and product.
  • Have a “system” that’s simple, organized & duplicateable.
  • Use positive, energetic words like: Fantastic! Great! Awesome! Appreciate! Terrific!
  • Always use the other person’s NAME!
  • Erase the word TRY from your vocabulary. Don’t “try”...just do it.
  • Be complimentary of others. Make them feel good.
  • Exude talent/energy/effort/commitment.
  • Don’t let what other people think about network marketing affect your actions/enthusiasm/passion/dreams!
  • Be energetic.
  • Be an "energy giver" (not a taker).
  • Exude confidence.
  • Be persuasive.
  • Communicate a sense of urgency.
  • Use "fear of loss" as needed.
  • Look for teachable people.
  • On a scale of 1-10, look for 7’s or higher...they will have the most success.
  • Be aware of the other person's energy level and their body language.
  • Have relaxed intensity.
  • Practice tonality; match & mirror people’s tone & speed.
  • Ask questions to handle objections.

Always remember:

  1. If you dress successful...you will feel successful and act more successful.

  2. The better your image, the more people you will attract into your business.

  3. You will attract WHO YOU ARE...not who you want.

The Power of Words, Part II, by Sheri Sharman

I just came across this question in a book titled, "Ask And You Will Succeed" by Ken Foster: "What does your thinking look like to others?"

This question ties in to my previous blog...The Power of Words. Remember, words are both spoken and unspoken. Your unspoken words are your thoughts. Answering the question, "What does your thinking look like to others?", might help you become more aware of what unspoken words or thoughts you are using to describe yourself.

The Power of Words by Sheri Sharman

WORDS, both spoken and unspoken, are POWERFUL...they create emotion.

Words create a picture in your mind. And this picture creates various emotions. Emotions can change your state of mind and the type of energy you give off and attract. This is why people often say, "what you think about (or say to yourself in words) will come true"!

Dr. Wayne Dyer says, "Every thought that you have impacts you. By shifting in the middle of a weakening thought to one that strengthens, you raise your energy vibration and strengthen yourself and the immediate energy field."

Be mindful of the words, both spoken and upspoken, that you use to describe yourself. You should practice positive self-talk, for instance, say to yourself "I am a winner" or "I always succeed". Talk in the present tense..."I always succeed"...versus..."I will succeed". You must see yourself as already succeeding and "tell" yourself that you are already succeeding, in order to succeed.

In Defense of Sheri Sharman: Friendship Is Priceless!

I personally would like to give a special thanks to both Justin "Broker" Jones and Tracy Jacobsen for devoting the time, energy, and love to write In Defense of Sheri Sharman. It takes a true friend to stand up for someone that is being attacked through abuse of the Internet using manipulation and lies and hiding under the umbrella of "freedom of speech."

Click here to read Broker's blog entry titled "In Defense of Sheri Sharman" and the reply/comment from Tracy Jacobsen.

Click here to read Part II of Broker's blog entry.

After spending 21 years passionately building sales teams and friendships and a good name in the Network Marketing arena to now being targeted, attacked and slandered by both Ed Magedson and Bill Gould speaks volumes about the parasitic character of these individuals. Everyone will have to deal with "good guys" and "bad guys" throughout their lifetime. I will let you make your own intelligent decision on which category my attackers fall into. The facts are that life is too short, and I choose not to reciprocate the attacks from either Ed Magedson (a.k.a. Eddie Donovan) or Bill Gouldd, and I refuse to play in the mud.

Thanks again to Broker and Tracy for coming to my defense...friendship really is priceless!

Sincerely,
Sheri Sharman

P.S. - Photo is of me and my grandson, Merric. He is showing off his first 2 teeth!

EcoMom Alliance Is Making A Difference

I recently became a supporter of a non-profit organization called EcoMom Alliance.

Their mission, according to their website, says: "The EcoMom Alliance is a non-profit, 501(c)3 organization inspiring and empowering mothers to help reduce the climate crisis and create a sustainable future. In the process, we also help to alleviate the isolation and overextension so common among mothers in contemporary society."

Personal Development Training, DISCOVERY 2008 - January's Call

Last night's Discovery call was amazing!!! It was our first call for 2008 and our largest call since our Los Angeles Discovery event in August 2007. The Discovery Grads were allowed to invite people in their sales team to join us in 2008 for our monthly call. Discovery is my favorite of all the trainings because it deals with how we can let go of the past, be focused on the present and make a plan for the future. It's uplifting, FUN and absolutely the best gift anyone can give themselves.

Here are some highlights from the call:
  • I shared with everyone that I attribute much of my success in Network Marketing to the personal development courses, cassette tapes and books that I studied prior to getting involved in the industry.
  • New Silver Sales Leader, Meshelle Throne, shared how 2007 was the toughest year of her life yet the support she received at Discovery helped her become stronger and more powerful. Meshelle said that Discovery helped her personally grow and it helped her set & reach her goal of becoming a Silver Sales Leader.
  • We heard next from Gold Sales Leader Dr. Dennis Kudlik from Southern California. His highlight of Discovery was the camaraderie that he and his wife Cindy experienced throughout the 3 day weekend. Together they were able to work on their plans for the future and everyone could see that they had the time of their lives!
  • Silver Sales Leader Barbara Lee from Los Angeles was a powerhouse when she told us how she loved her time at Discovery. She claimed it was like ONE BIG FAMILY!! She felt a family bond with everyone there and was able to dump all her negative experiences from the past.
  • Then we heard from Broker Jones in Arizona. He shared how Discovery was the best investment he could ever make in his personal growth and development. Broker was glad he took the time to attend Discovery and said the support he experienced allowed him to give his self-discovery a 100%.
  • We also heard from our Montana girls, Linda and Rene, who learned about Discovery the Wednesday night before the event. Together with their team mates they drove non-stop to attend Discovery on time! Linda emotionally shared how Discovery helped her break though fears and doubts.
  • Then to top the evening call off, we heard from Tiffany Passick, a Gold Sales Leader from Michigan. She enlightened us on how Discovery helped her to "Think Differently" and told us what an impact a Discovery weekend can have if you're willing to change and accept greatness in your life. She also expressed how Discovery helped her and her sister to heal and become awesome friends...and that is priceless.
On each monthly Discovery Call we will have Grads share their Discovery turning point and what made a difference for them. Be sure to watch the video on http://www.discovery08.com/ and look for what every picture has in common...here's a hint...check out all the SMILES!

Don't miss next month's Discovery call...

Sheri Sharman Spotlights: Rene Abreu

Sheri Sharman Spotlights: VíaVienté Gold Sales Leader, Rene Abreu

Sheri: Rene, how were you introduced to Vía?

Rene: We were introduced to Vía in October of 2004 by our close friends, Rey and Joanna Falcatan, from Olympia, Washington. My wife has been best friends with Joanna since childhood and we were staying at their home for a family celebration. We noticed every morning and every night that they took this purple juice and gave it to their kids as well. I asked what it was and Rey pointed me to the website where I saw that Brunswick Labs did the Anti-Oxidant testing. Having used this lab as a reference in school, this was all I needed to know. I took out my card and placed our first order.

Sheri: I understand that you and your wife, Dr. Yvette, used Vía for over a year before really getting into the business. What made you finally decide to get involved in the business side of Vía?

Rene: After using the product for a whole year, we realized how great it is and how we could help people. We were both open-minded people when we were first introduced to Vía; we just lacked business knowledge and did not realize the full spectrum of value in the VíaVienté business model. It only took training for us to realize that we were going to pursue VíaVienté as a part-time business. The goal is to work Vía part-time to grow a residual income that will out-earn our current careers.
