It's Kiva Time!

I love building teams of people who work together in creating a better life. This is probably why I love the concept of Kiva. Through this organization a person can help others realize their dreams by providing small business loans. Each time the loan of $25.00 is paid back I reinvest in another individual or individuals as with this last loan. This recent loan was made to a group of women.

The official name of this group translates as "The Women’s Bank of Unity and Growth." This group consists of 12 women from the Coto Brus region of southern Costa Rica. With this loan, each member will receive a deposit to invest at their discretion. These women have created The Women’s Bank of Unity and Growth as a formal way to support each other as guarantors of each other’s loans.

You can find out more about Kiva by visiting Kiva
Kiva is the world's first person-to-person micro-lending website, empowering individuals to lend to unique entrepreneurs around the globe. The people you see on Kiva's site are real people. When you browse entrepreneurs' profiles on Kiva, choose someone to lend to, and then make a loan, you are helping a real person make great strides towards economic independence and improve life for themselves, their family, and their community. Throughout the course of the loan (usually 6-12 months), you can receive email journal updates and track repayments. It is rewarding to get that email....saying your loan has been repaid and fun in slecting another person or group to help.

I will keep you posted on the next loan that is repaid and a new loan made.
